Out of the Office? Joy to the World

Spread some holiday cheer with your auto-reply

Jingle BellsHave you got some time off from work during the holidays? Well, if you're like many office workers, you'll have to set up an auto-reply message to tell people who e-mail you that you're away. Such messages typically state when you'll return and perhaps who to contact in your absence.

But that’s boring! Why not use your auto-reply to spread a little holiday cheer? Try this.

To the tune of "Jingle Bells":

My phone may ring and ring,
My In box overflow.
It doesn't mean a thing
'Cause I just had to go.

You won't miss me much,
So I'm not checking mail.
You can try to get in touch,
But you will surely fail.

Ohhhh...
I'm not here. I am out.
I have gone away.
Your e-mail will sit and wait
Until another day. Hey!

I'm not here. I am out.
I have gone away.
If you're lost, then tell my boss,
And I will seek more pay.

For time you may be pressed,
With deadlines in your face.
That may make you stressed.
I'm sorry that's the case.

I'd love to help you out.
That I'm sure you see.
There's no need to cry and pout.
Next year I'll be free.

Ohhhh...
I'm not here. I am out.
I have gone away.
Your e-mail will sit and wait
Until another day. Hey!

I'm not here. I am out.
I have gone away.
Not to worry - life goes on.
What more can I say?

I am currently out of the office. I will return on January 2. If you think your matter is important and needs immediate attention, you probably should get some perspective. In lieu of that, please contact Skippy Brownnoser. And kindly ensure that your needs are fully addressed before I get back because I don't want any work to pile up while I'm away.

Happy holidays!
